Marcien Jenckes, CEO
As CEO, Marcien Jenckes provides strategic direction and operational leadership for Voxant.
Prior to joining Voxant, Marcien was SVP of Messaging, Community, and Voice at AOL, overseeing AOL's community products, including the AIM® and ICQ® branded services, which are at the center of one of the largest and most dynamic online and mobile communities worldwide.
Prior to this role, Marcien was responsible for launching AOL's free web services by overseeing the design, development and programming of the AOL network, including the launch of the free AOL.com portal, AOL’s Welcome Screen, My AOL, AOL's Video Hub and other web properties that attract more than 100 million monthly visitors.
At AOL, Marcien also led the Strategy & Operations team for all of AOL Programming properties. In this capacity, he managed the business planning process, which played a core role in the decision to launch a full free web offering. He also led the Web Development, Video Production, Photo Editing, and Project Management functions.
Before coming to AOL, Marcien worked at McKinsey & Company in Washington, DC and was a member of their Media and Technology practice. During his time at McKinsey, he managed engagements focused on new businesses and technologies, including the creation of an international mobile portal, consumer facing financial services platforms, and new web technologies.
Marcien holds an MBA from the Darden School at the University of Virginia, and a BA in Economics and Political Science from New York University.
Jeffrey Charles Crigler, President
As President, Jeff heads the product and technology teams, and also leads the transcription services business. This role leverages his substantial experience in the content and information technology fields.
Early in his career, Jeff formed his own lobbying software company, which he sold to what is now LexisNexis. At LexisNexis, he became Director of Business Information Services, developing the first HTML-based Internet services tools that would be the harbingers of the Internet world to come.
Jeff then moved to IBM as Vice President of Internet Information Technologies, where he was a frequent speaker at technology conferences about innovative developments that led IBM to its re-invention as the world's preeminent e-business company. After IBM's acquisition of Lotus Development, Jeff headed up Lotus' Knowledge Management group. Experiences there prompted Jeff to found Engenia Software in 1998, where he served as CEO prior to joining Voxant.
Jeff's career began in 1980 with stints as a lobbyist and, later, as a speechwriter for President Jose Napoleon Duarte in El Salvador. Jeff discovered his lifelong passion for computers by developing a lobbying application to help keep President Duarte aware of events and issues in Washington.
Jeff earned a BA from St. John's College in Annapolis, Maryland and a Masters in International Business Diplomacy from the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University.
Art Bushnell, Vice President of Sales and Business Development
As Vice President of Sales and Business Development, Art is responsible for licensing agreements with Voxant's content providers as well as partnerships with major syndication affiliates.
Art is a 20-year sales veteran with an extensive background in news and financial information services. He has worked with Reuters, Thomson Financial, Proquest, DataTimes and UPI.
Originally a reporter and editor, Art has spent the bulk of his career working with broadcasters, newspapers and Web publishers. After leaving UPI as deputy CEO, he spent several years in charge of the U.S. media and new media business areas at Reuters. Art also spent eight years at Thomson Financial, leading Internet sales and directing advertising sales and hosting efforts for the Thomson Financial Network destination site.
Art attended the University of Oregon, where he was editor of the Oregon Daily Emerald student newspaper.
Ben Steinberg, Vice President of Development
As Vice President of Development, Ben is responsible for product engineering and network operations.
Ben has 20 years experience in product development and custom application deployment. Prior to joining Voxant, he established product strategy and the realignment of all products within the World Wide Retail Exchange WorldSOURCE portfolio. As Vice President of Professional Services at Engenia Software, he led the design and implementation of custom applications and supported implementations at organizations such as Thomson Corporation and McKinsey.
Ben was with IBM for over 8 years where he held key development and management positions including: leading the development and commercialization efforts for the patented IBM Search and Retreival Databolts, a distributed search product which was the first to successfully retrieve indexed binary objects across heterogeneous databases from an Internet and Extranet environment; being responsible for the sale and deployment of IBM’s worldwide content retrieval systems where he worked with organizations such as Reuters to collect and distribute content via the IBM infoMarket service; and serving as a Director in the Lotus Knowledge Management Group after IBM’s acquisition of Lotus.
Ben received an MBA from George Mason University, a Bachelor of Science at Radford University, and has attended Oxford University in England.
Becky Beeler, Vice President of Finance
As Vice President of Finance, Becky Beeler is responsible for Voxant's financial and administrative operations. A veteran of IBM, Engenia Software and the National Institutes of Standards and Technology, she has more than 24 years of experience in finance, operations, marketing and engineering in the technology sector.
Becky's previous experience includes vice president of finance and operations for Engenia, where she helped secure $22 million in venture capital, and IBM, where she spent 19 years in various positions ranging from CFO of the Internet Information Technology Group to engineer. She also was a consultant for the National Institutes of Standards and Technology, where she was responsible for awarding $60 million of annual Department of Commerce Advanced Technology Program grants as a member of the Information Technology panel and provided business analysis and funding recommendations for high risk technology proposals.
Becky received a master's in industrial engineering from Purdue University and a bachelor's in electrical engineering from Texas Tech University.
